Lately people may physically be there in a moment but their presence is absent.

How often do we find ourselves doing something and thinking something else!
Whether engaged in work or enjoying vacations, most of us are constantly plagued by thoughts of incomplete tasks, lost arguments and endless notifications.
Strain of what we could have done better and stress of what we can do better overshadows what we are doing in the moment.
Sandwiched between the dusk of the past and dawn of the future lies the present.
People loose touch with the here and now as the shadows of yesterday still rob their peace and the dreams of tomorrow don’t let them sleep!
Psychology says, in any given moment, the human mind harbors involuntary and compulsive thoughts.
We are constantly judging, analyzing and labelling our surroundings. “This suit makes him look fat”, “how many nutrients are present in my food” “I’m having a bad day”.
This internal dialogue loots our attention, leaving us too overwhelmed to simply experience reality as it is.
A person who takes his family to the beach, is possessed by woes of pending work at the office. The same person sitting in his office worries that he has to take is family to the beach!
Swamped amidst all this chaos who has got the time to live in the present moment. Lost in rues of the bygone and woes of the time to come, we fail to realize that our present day is the future we once planned for and will become the past that we don’t want to regret!
And for the stubborn mental math part, we can never really make our mind to stop thinking. What we can do instead is change the narrative!
Instead of judging or labelling, try to step back and become an observer.
Observe your thoughts, observe your surroundings. Witness them as they pass by. And maybe in the process, you might end up witnessing the present moment as well!
In attempts to make sense of the world around us, absorbed by our regrets and plans and all the distraction,
In attempts to lead a better life tomorrow,
We are missing on a very specific ‘rule of life’
The only way to live is to live in the present!
“Your entire life only happens in this moment. The present moment is life itself.”
— Eckhart Tolle
